We contacted Dimitry at Dynamic Floor Covering to install hardwood flooring in our kitchen. Dimitry is prompt, polite and provided great service and communication regarding the different crews that did the work. Our 126 year old house posed a bit of a challenge but Dimitry was very responsive and everything resolved right away. We are delighted with our new floor. I must give Dynamic Floor Covering my highest recommendation!

Dimitry and his crew were prompt, efficient and very skilled. The new flooring looks great! We have a curved staircase and each piece was fitted perfectly. He also moved all of our furniture without a single scuff or scratch. We highly recommend this company.

We had a lot of water damage and most of our hardwood flooring had to be removed during demolition. The new floor was perfectly weaved into the old flooring and no one can tell the difference after sanding and staining! It looks great AND they started and ended when they said they would. I highly recommend Dynamic Flooring.

It was stress free, the craftsmen ship is superb. They took care with all the furniture and the new oak floor is smooth and beautiful. Thank you so much Dynamic!

We contracted with Dynamic Floor Covering, Alex, Dimitry and David, who did a wonderful job with our wood floors in West Simsbury. They were very professional and thorough. They took all the right precautions and put cellophane over all of our cabinets and living room furniture and arrived early on time and didn’t finish until the job was completed. We are very very satisfied with their work.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask before they book.

Solid or engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is one solid piece of wood all the way through. It is best for most main floors and second floors and can be refinished multiple times over its life. Engineered hardwood is more dimensionally stable and a smart pick for lower levels or anywhere over concrete. At the in-home measure we look at your floor and subfloor and help you pick the right option.

How long does a hardwood installation take?

If the product is in stock, we can move fast. If it comes from a mill, lead time is often 2-3 weeks depending on the product. Installation itself takes 3-7 days for most projects, depending on size and complexity.

Will the price change after I sign?

The price we quote is meant to be your final price, not a starting point that grows with surprise fees. The only time pricing changes is if we uncover real structural or subfloor issues after removing the old flooring, because we won't install a new floor over a bad foundation.

Do I need a permit?

In most cases, no. Connecticut treats installing new hardwood and refinishing existing hardwood as cosmetic finish work, which generally does not require a building permit. A permit typically comes into play only if a job goes beyond the finish surface, for example replacing rotted structural subfloor or framing, or work that touches electrical or plumbing.

Can you install hardwood in a basement?

Basements are usually better suited for luxury vinyl plank because of moisture risk, and that is what we normally recommend below grade. If hardwood in a basement is a must, we'll discuss engineered options, but we won't recommend something likely to fail.

What does the $750 offer require?

The project must be new hardwood floors in three rooms or more. Those projects get $750 off.
